Postgraduate students attending this year’s ANZSA conference are invited to enter your paper for the Lloyd Davis Memorial Prize.
The Australian and New Zealand Shakespeare Association (ANZSA) is pleased to announce that the Lloyd Davis Memorial Prize will be awarded to the best graduate essay submitted for inclusion on the program of the 2023 ANZSA conference Shakespeare Beyond All Limits at the University of Sydney, 7-9 December. The prize is a cheque for AUD$500 and includes mentoring support towards peer-reviewed publication of the paper, provided by the President of the Association or a suitably expert senior scholar on the ANZSA Executive.
You are eligible to enter for the prize if:
- You are registering to participate in the 2023 ANZSA conference; and
- You are enrolled as an Honours, Masters, or PhD student or its equivalent. If you have submitted your thesis but it has not been examined, you will still be eligible.
To enter for the prize, please prepare a version of the paper that you will be presenting at the ANZSA 2023 conference in one of the 20-minute Paper panel sessions (a paper of this length would normally be 8-10 double spaced pages or in the range of 2,500 to 3,000 words), along with notes and works cited. Your name should be given only in the cover email, not on the paper.
Submit your paper to: Professor Laurie Johnson, ANZSA President (laurence.johnson@usq.edu.au)
The deadline for electronic submission is midnight AEST, Monday 6 November 2023.
